My professional background is accoutered with communications positions, editing experience, and a variety of journalism gigs. I received a bachelor's degree in journalism almost 10 years ago and have been working in the industry ever since, in a variety of capacities. I've had extensive experience as an editor and as an editor's assistance. I have worked as a Publication's Manager, Social Media and Online Content Manager and Managing Editor.
Other roles I have acquired outside the field have given me a wide range of skills that come into play in a number of ways. As owner and curator of an art gallery in New Harmony, Ind. I learned leadership skills and developed my creative eye. As maitre d' at one of San Francisco's busiest and finest sushi restaurants, I practiced dealing with stressful situations, honed my mulit-tasking skills and learned thrive in chaotic environments.
So, as you see, I've been on both sides of the desk. I have the ability to think and work like a creative, as well as the ability to lead, manager, and guide projects. I also have excellent problem solving skills, communication skills, and technical skills. I am keen on keeping my work relationships productive and positive. I am a hard worker, punctual, and handle stressful situations with ease.
